Winter Break Camps

Winter camps at One River School allow students grades K-12 to experience mini versions of One River School’s most popular summer camp programs during their winter school breaks.

Week 1 - December 26 - 28

SCULPTUREs:LIFESIZE OTHER-WORLDLY CREATURES!

Students will observe extra-terrestrial creatures in movies, video games and ancient art and learn how to execute the techniques of assemblage, additive sculpture, and paper-mache.

DRawing: Comic Book
Creations

Explore comic book creation and storytelling in this cartooning camp. Students will create their own comic book from beginning to end - creating original characters, a dynamic plot and learning new techniques.

Blacklight Painting:
Surrealist ARCTIC-scapes

​Students will learn about new art media and new art making processes. Students will learn about and reference artists from the Surrealism era to create innovative and imaginative landscapes.

This winter camp introduces students to the world of YouTube and gives them an overview of video sharing history, processes and trends.

 Students will learn about new methods and techniques of art making. Students will also be exposed to new art tools and learn how to incorporate them into their art making processes.

Students will learn basic clay building techniques as well as the process of using their imaginations and creativity to visualize and develop their own unique otherworldly beings.

Students will learn essential foundational skills in drawing as they experiment and create various self-portraitures and learn to draw from observation while adapting qualities of different drawing styles.
