Kids Art Shuffle

Grades 3-5

Kids Art Shuffle is our core art program for Grades 3-5 that allows students to become well-rounded artists by shuffling projects across drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and mixed media. Students engage in One River School’s innovative curriculum inspired by contemporary artists that stimulates their imagination and helps them develop essential technical skills in a fun classroom environment.

Kids Focus on Drawing

Grades 3-5

Kids Focus on Drawing is designed for students Grades 3-5 who want to become experienced drawers with strong technical skills. Students learn the principles of using line, tone, light, texture, composition, spacial depth and perspective through fun and engaging projects drawing portraits, animals, landscapes, still lives and imaginative imagery.

Kids Focus on Cartooning

Grades 3-5

Focus on Cartooning is designed for students in Grades 3-5 who want to learn the fundamentals of cartooning and illustration through fun projects that stimulate their imagination. Students create original characters, dynamic narratives, and compelling storylines inspired by today’s most important cartoonists and animators.

Kids Focus on Manga

Grades 3-5

Manga, the popular Japanese style of cartooning, has become widely known for its humorous storylines, exaggerated emotions and dynamic characters. In this course, students will develop skills across digital drawing, illustration, and character design while concentrating on a variety of traditional and contemporary Japanese styles.

  • Work in a variety of digital media including professional creative software
  • Projects include creating original manga style illustrations, drawings, storyboards, characters, and stop motion
  • Learn about traditional and contemporary manga artists by examining classics like Akira and Naruto to westernized versions of manga such as Gallagher’s Megatokyo and Takashi Murakami
